Our Story
Seven years, two cities, one very patient dog
We met over the last copy of a book neither of us ended up buying. — Alina
It was a wet Thursday in a secondhand bookshop on Brunswick Street. Timothy reached for a battered copy of A Room with a View at the same moment Alina did, and rather than argue over it, they argued about it — for three hours, over two pots of tea, in the café next door.
Since then there has been a move to Melbourne and back again, a small rescue greyhound named Biscuit, a great many Sunday markets, and one entirely unsuccessful attempt to grow tomatoes on a balcony.
Last spring, on a quiet lookout in the Dandenong Ranges, Timothy produced a ring from a coat pocket — tucked inside that very same, still-unread book. Alina said yes before the question was even finished.
